China Gold Panda Coins

Almost every country – especially United States and other nations in Europe and Asia, have gold coins that have their own unique design. Think about it – if Australia has the Australian Gold Kangaroo coins, if Austria has the Austrian Philharmonic gold coins, and if the United States Of America have the American Eagle gold coins, then China comes with its guns blazing…having the China Gold Panda coins!
These gold coins which features a lovable Panda design were first released by China during 1982. It came in different sizes and gold content – some have 1 troy ounce of 0.999 fine gold. Others have 0.5 troy ounce of gold, several have 0.25, and these variations are just to name a few!
When 1983 came, they issued another size of China Gold Panda coins, which have 1/20 troy ounce of 999 fine gold. However, during the preceding years, larger Gold Panda coins are created due to increasing demand – some weigh 5 ounces while others weigh as much as 12 ounces! That’s a lot of gold for a coin if you’re going to ask me! To make these gold coins from China even better, they were issued in Prooflike and Brilliant Uncirculated Quality…having a different design every year after its release all the way until 2000. However, there was a freeze on the design issued with the 2001 edition of China Gold Panda Coins. That explains why the 2002 Panda Gold Coins are identical to those of 2001.
However, the collectors and avid fans of these China Gold Panda coins stood up and clamored for the annual changes in the design. This persuaded China to respond by reversing that freeze…bringing new designs for the China Gold Panda Coins when 2003 came. If you’re someone who wants to collect a certain type of gold coin every year with varying but equally magnificent designs, then the China Gold Panda coins are yours for the taking.
