Back in 2007, the United States Mint released a new series of $10 gold coins to commemorate the spouses of previous Presidents of the United States. These coins which came to be known as the First Spouse Gold Coins were created with half an ounce of gold along with a dazzling portrait of the first spouses on the obverse side of the coin…while the reverse side of the coin features the life and work of the First Spouse featured on the coin.

This series of gold coins is just one of the commemorative gold coins manufactured by the United States Mint. One that will surely have a spot in the heart of every gold coin collector and lover is the US Constitution Commemorative Gold Coin – specifically the US Constitution Bicentennial Gold Five Dollar Coin. We saw the US Constitution Commemorative Gold Coin manufactured back in 1987 to commemorate…well the United States Constitutions bicentennial! This Gold Coin features the image of Lady Liberty on the obverse side of the coin, while the reverse side of the US Constitution Bicentennial Commemorative Gold Coin showcases the slogan – “We The People”. About 1,000,000 of these commemorative gold coins were produced.

Following this, in 1989, was the time…the year to commemorate the Bicentennial, this time of the US Congress. For this occasion, the United States Mint decided to create a Five Dollar Gold Coin. The US Congress Bicentennial Gold Coin was issues…and many coin collectors agreed that it is just as striking and dazzling as the previous commemorative gold coins created during the yesteryears. It features the image of the Capitol Dome on the obverse side of the coin. On the reverse side, you will find the picture of an eagle located on top of a canopy, which is located at the Old Senate building. Just like commemorative gold coin discussed above, about a million of these commemorative gold coins were manufactured.

No matter what your experience in coin and gold collecting is, whether you’re looking for something that has great value for the price, rarity, quality, durability, and everything in between, there is no doubt that the US Constitution Commemorative Gold Coins are suitable for you! You can have them along with the other commemorative gold coins like the First Spouse Gold Coins and the President Gold Dollars, or you can have them on their own. It doesn’t really matter. Having them in your collection is a must for any serious coin collector and gold investor.

Do you love coin collecting? Are you someone who loves to speculate and invest in gold coins? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you should read on. I have some great news for those who love to collect gold coins of different shapes and sizes…both veteran and newcomer to the industry.

If you’re one of the coin collectors who’re looking for new gold coins to collect, then here’s something that you should pay attention to – the First Spouse Gold Coins just became more accessible to the average coin collector! You see, the United States Mint has just scrapped their plans to offer the 2007 First Spouse Gold Coins in set of four…and with a steep price of a whopping $1600 for every set. Instead, you can now take advantage of the First Spouse Gold Coins at $410.95 for the standard issues while for the proof versions or issues, you can grab them at $429.95 each.

The First Spouse Gold Coins are created to serve as a companion…a tag team so to speak with the new President Dollar series – a series of gold coins that got off a rollicking start on February 15 of year 2007 when the United States Mint released a huge amount of George Washington plain edge dollars and other dollar coin errors. Just like its companion, the First Spouse Gold Coins were issued at the rate of four coins per year until the eligible Spouses are honored. Along with that, the United States Mint will also release and sell a slightly tweaked and modified version of the First Spouse Gold Coins through the form of a bronze medal.

I would be delighted to find out which of the 2 First Spouse Gold Coins would be more popular to average coin collectors and eventually more valuable as time passes. I can be almost certain that the First Spouse Gold Coins will sell out all because of their popularity. There are lesser known Spouse Gold Coins…and they might end up in small mintages when the popular ones are all sold out. The First Spouse Gold Coins is absolutely a series to keep an eye on. I’m sure that you don’t want to settle for the lesser known Spouse Gold Coins. So heed my advice, go ahead and check out the First Spouse Gold Coins and get the chance to grab them whenever you can…that’s especially true if you’re someone who loves to speculate in collectible.

Back in 1832, there was a proposal for a US Three Dollar Coin to be created. However, the mint director during the time Samuel Moore quickly threw that idea out of the window. And there’s no doubt that this decision is reasonable. There was no need for a three dollar gold coin, especially in 1832. Think about it – there is very little gold available to use for the creation of 3-dollar gold coins. But everything changed when 1848 came and gold was unveiled at the foothills of California. This ushered the Gold Rush years – and led the demand for a higher production of gold coins and more gold denominations.

Needless to say, this made the creation of the 3 dollar gold coin – the Indian Princess Gold Coin a plausible idea. After all, back then, there is a 3 cent gold coin that the average citizen could use to buy a stamp. So why not create a gold coin – the Indian Princess Gold Coin that could be used to buy 100 stamps? Well, that may not be the true reason why the Indian Princess Gold coin, which is worth 3 dollars, is created and minted. But one can be sure that gold lobbyists wanted another US gold coin denomination to increase the value of gold. And they worked hard for it!

That’s why when February of 1853 came, the Congress approved the idea for the new coin denomination…leading to the creation of the Indian Princess Gold Coin. The minting and creation of the Indian Princess Gold Coin is short lived however. When 1889 came, the US Mint ceased its production of this 3 dollar gold piece. Truth be told, the production of the Indian Princess Gold Coin lasted longer than it should. But that’s great news for today’s coin collectors! That means there are many dates for this Indian Princess Gold Coin to choose from. However, one should expect that these dates for this series of gold coins are rare and quite expensive.

Aside from 1854 Indian Princess Gold Coin, there are only 3 significant dates and mintages – that would be 1855 with 50,555 gold coins minted, the other would be 1874 with 41,820, and last but not the least, 82,324 back in 1878. As for the other dates, the mintages are only a few thousands. Heck! Some are even under 100! Here’s an example, in 1875, there were only 20 Indian Princess Gold coins that were struck and all of them are in Proof Format. In the same manner, the 1873 Indian Princess Gold Coins are all Proof Issues. That shows how rare and expensive the Indian Princess Gold Coins are…especially the Proof issues and formats.

During the old times, Western people were aloof about using paper money. They didn’t trust it. And that means the gold coins during the time are well…worth their weight in gold! Back then, a gold dollar has the gold weight of a US Gold Dollar. On the other hand, a quarter dollar

When the privately owned mints started to issue these small gold coins, many of them circulated at a nationwide scale…quickly filling the need for coinage. Because of their dainty size (that holds true for the California Fractional Gold Coins!) many of them have been worn down pretty easily from circulation. Many of them are carried in the pockets of miners, merchants, and that’s just to name a few.

Just recently, many coin collectors and dealers documented the history of the California Fractional Gold Coins. Back then, very little is known about the California Fractional Gold Coins inside the US coin collecting industry. It was only when the Professional Coin Grading service started to document the unique properties of the California Fractional Gold coins did the collectors realize the significant rarity and properties that these coins have.

In my opinion, the California Fractional Gold Coins are uniquely collectible. And get hold of this – some of these coins have survived in Brilliant and Uncirculated condition. And it’s these California Fractional Gold Coins that been the most sought and highly prized in the series. Just how prized and sought after are these uncirculated California Fractional Gold Coins?

Check this out – back in 2003, the 1854 Round Defiant Eagle Quarter (a variant of the California Fractional Gold coins) has been sold at an auction for a whopping price of $48,000! However, don’t be led to think that California Fractional Gold Coins are for collectors with deep pockets. Nothing could be further from the truth! Matter of fact, many coin collectors – both veterans and newcomers, are attracted to the series because of the price range…each coin could be bought anywhere between $395 to $1,000 each. In any coin collector’s book, this price range is undeniably attractive for coins that have very low original mintages and small surviving population.

If you are a coin collector who places his attention on distinctive gold coins that are created all the way back during the days of Western Frontier Era of America, the California Fractional Gold Coins are definitely suitable for you. For the rarity, the uniqueness of size, and more, the price of California Fractional Gold Coins is simply unbeatable!

I’m convinced …hands down that the California Fractional Gold Coins are bound to take up a spot in the American Numismatics in the up and coming years. Series Numismatists have proven that there are less than 30,000 California Fractional Gold Coins existing nowadays. That’s for the entire series by the way. And that simply means only a couple of serious coin collectors will lay their hands on a single California Fractional Gold Coin. With such rarity for a very affordable price, these gold coins that have a wonderful history is worth going nuts for!

At last! The United States Mint is now producing the 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins. This signifies the first time ever that the government has struck or created 0.9999 or 24 karat gold coins. The 2006 Buffalo Gold Coins are available both in bullion and proof format and it started selling back in June 22 of the year 2006.

The 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins have a face value of $50 and each of these gold coins contain an ounce of 24 karat gold. Both bullion and proof formats of the 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins are coined at the West Point Mint. However, only the proof format of these gold coins bears the unique “W” mintmark…proving that it was minted at the West Point Mint.

Buffalo Nickel – if you’ve seen this coin designed by James Earle Fraser, which is minted back in 1913 up until 1938, then you’ll definitely agree that the 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins strongly resembles these older coins. It has the classic Fraser design on the obverse side of the coin (heads) – which features a Native American, as well as the American Buffalo also known as a Bison standing on top of a grassy mound on the reverse side of the coin.

Aside from the mintmark as well as the date of the 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins, you’ll also find inscriptions of the obverse side of the coin which includes Liberty as well as the letter F, paying tribute to its designer which is no other than Fraser. On the reverse side of the coin, you will also find the inscriptions – United Stated Of America, In God We Trust, as well as E Pluribus Unum. Along with that, you will also find the coin’s specifications which is $50 as well as 1 oz of .9999 Fine Gold (that’s 24 Karats just in case you don’t know).

If you’re one of the avid coin collectors who’re looking and wishing to buy a 2006 Buffalo Gold Coin, then you may have some luck at eBay. You’ll find a couple of them available there. Although the Federal Law caps the proof format of the 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins, the bullion format of these gold coins are produced without any restrictions whatsoever. The bullion format of 2006 American Buffalo Gold Coins should be far easier to locate.

The 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle – there’s no doubt about it, it was one of the most highly anticipated gold coins in history. Think about it – the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle recreates the original vision and design by the well-known designer Augustus Saint Gaudens…the design that he could not realize when he was still alive.

These gold coins were originally reproduced through digitally mapping the coin plasters from the original design coupled with some updates to the design. The obverse side of the coin has the current 2009 date, which is expressed through the Roman numerals MMIX. As for the stars of the Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it has been updated from the original 46 to 50 – which represents the number of USA states. As for the reverse side of Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it contains the inscriptions “In God We Trust” which is added between the suns and rays from the original design. Both the obverse and reverse side of the coin has a small border which is added along the edge.

As for the purity of the gold coins – it is struck in 24 karat gold, and each of these Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagles contains an ounce of gold. These gold coins measure 27 mm in diameter while having a 4 mm thickness. Each of these coins will have the 2009 date and will be struck with uncirculated finish. The mass had its first glimpse of the Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle when it was unveiled during the ANA World’s Fair Of Money during July 30 2008. The Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle was included as a part of a wider and larger display that tells the story of coin – how it materialized from raw goods to finished product.

It was at the West Point Mint (dated back in November 24 2008) when the first strike ceremony for the Ultra high Relief Double Eagle was made. The United States Mint Director had the honor and pleasure to strike the first coin, which was sent to the Smithsonian Institute. As for the second Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it was retained at the US Mint to serve as one of their heritage assets.

January 22 2009 – this is the date when the Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin first went on sale at the United States Mint. There was an ordering limit though – only one of these gold coins can be sold to a household. Having an initial price of $1189 for each of these Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it has a steep price for an average buyer! However, this cost is subject to change depending on the price of gold. As for the delivery, the United States Mint has warned and reminded customers that it can take well over 9 months before the coin is delivered. In spite of that though, over 40000 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coins were ordered during the first five days of sale after its release.

Let me guess – it’s your first time buying gold coins and collectibles? Yeah? If you answered yes to that, then by all means, grab your American Eagle Gold Coins! I’m giving these coins my highest recommendation whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned veteran at collecting gold coins. Newly minted, these gold coins from the United States are recognized whichever corner of the globe you go to.

Needless to say, these American Eagle Gold Coins are way easier to sell than any other gold bars or gold bullions around. Unlike the mentioned gold assets, these highly-prized coins don’t entail any delays or added expense for assaying them. Not to mention they are TOTALLY private and non-reportable. It’s of little wonder why serious gold investors go for these American Gold Eagle Coins.

First issued back in 1986 by the US Mint, the American Gold Eagle Coins, which have the obverse design inspired by Saint-Gauden’s $20 gold coins back in 1907 and 1933…coupled with the reverse design showing a nest of eagles, quickly became popular. It was only a matter of time before it became one of the leading gold bullion coin investments around.

When it comes to durability, fear not! These world-class and world-popular gold coins use the gold standard which has been relied upon for circulating gold coins. Each and everyone of these American Eagle Gold Coins have been minted in 91.67% fine gold – making the coin tough enough to withstand almost any punishment!

And let me tell you something that would make the deal even sweeter, these are the only bullion gold coins that have been guaranteed by the US Government with respect to its weight and gold content. You’ve read that right! The US government itself is vouching for the gold content and weight of the American Eagle Gold coins.

What could be better than that!
