2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle

The 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle – there’s no doubt about it, it was one of the most highly anticipated gold coins in history. Think about it – the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle recreates the original vision and design by the well-known designer Augustus Saint Gaudens…the design that he could not realize when he was still alive.
These gold coins were originally reproduced through digitally mapping the coin plasters from the original design coupled with some updates to the design. The obverse side of the coin has the current 2009 date, which is expressed through the Roman numerals MMIX. As for the stars of the Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it has been updated from the original 46 to 50 – which represents the number of USA states. As for the reverse side of Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle, it contains the inscriptions “In God We Trust” which is added between the suns and rays from the original design. Both the obverse and reverse side of the coin has a small border which is added along the edge.
As for the purity of the gold coins – it is struck in 24 karat gold, and each of these Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagles contains an ounce of gold. These gold coins measure 27 mm in diameter while having a 4 mm thickness. Each of these coins will have the 2009 date and will be struck with uncirculated finish. The mass had its first glimpse of the Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle when it was unveiled during the ANA World’s Fair Of Money during July 30 2008. However, this cost is subject to change depending on the price of gold. As for the delivery, the United States Mint has warned and reminded customers that it can take well over 9 months before the coin is delivered. In spite of that though, over 40000 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coins were ordered during the first five days of sale after its release.
